Maria Zameer is the Chief Risk and Compliance Officer for Command Ridge Virtual Assets Authority (CRVAA). She previously held senior leadership positions at Standard Chartered, where she led major risk and control transformation initiatives across enterprise risk management, model risk governance, fintech risk, and digital asset framework. During her tenure, she designed, developed and operationalised risk governance frameworks aligned to major global regulatory regimes, including PRA, FCA, MAS, HKMA, DFSA, ADGM and APRA expectations. In 2025, she relocated to Sydney to set-up the risk and compliance function for the international regulatory office of the Government of Naoero called Command Ridge Virtual Assets Authority. Her career spans two decades of enterprise and credit risk management with more recent focus on Fintech and Digital Assets such as governance of custodians, stablecoin structures, tokenisation platforms, CBDC pilots, and cross-border crypto regulatory frameworks aligned to FATF standards and global prudential expectations.
