Sameer Panakkat is a global non-financial risk leader with over 27 years of experience across markets, transaction banking, and corporate finance in Asia and the Middle East. As General Manager, Non-Financial Risk Institutional at ANZ, he partners with senior leaders and regulators across multiple jurisdictions to enable sustainable growth. Known for his pragmatic approach, he focuses on embedding data-driven, technology-enabled risk management that supports innovation while strengthening resilience. Previously, Sameer held senior leadership roles at HSBC across Hong Kong, Singapore, and Dubai, including Head of Non-Financial Risk for Markets and Securities Services, APAC, and earlier as CIO for Global Banking and Markets in MENAT, leading large-scale risk and technology transformations.
