Aparna Turner is currently acting Head of Governance at Allianz Australia, with over 20 years’ experience across public policy, industry advocacy, regulation, risk and enterprise governance. She has held senior roles at APRA and the Insurance Council of Australia, and is recognised by the global Risky Women network as a “Woman to Watch” for award‑winning leadership in risk and governance. Aparna is an Australia Day Award recipient for excellence in public policy and is known for her courageous and decisive leadership in responding to industry disruption and supervising financial institutions in crisis. In her current role, she leads enterprise accountability and governance frameworks and is passionate about good governance as an enabler of innovation while protecting consumers. With deep insight into regulatory expectations, risk and governance frameworks, and accountability, Aparna brings practical perspectives on how diversity at the most senior level allows business to spot opportunities, strengthens risk governance and oversight.
