Biographie

Dr. Jan-Carl Plagge is Head of the Investment Strategy Group (ISG) APAC, a role in which he leads a team that produces thought leadership across the areas of asset return forecasting, portfolio construction, indexing, active and ESG investing, investor behavior, retirement and economics. Prior to assuming his current role, he was Head of Active-Passive Portfolio Research looking after index and active investing. Mr. Plagge has published in peer-reviewed journals and has presented his work at various practitioner and academic conferences. Mr. Plagge has 20 years of experience in the financial industry. Prior to joining Vanguard, he was Head of Research and Co-Head of Product at STOXX, working in Frankfurt, New York and London. He also held product development roles with Deutsche Börse AG where he was responsible for the development of international equity and strategy indices. Mr. Plagge earned a PhD in Finance from the EBS - Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht, Wiesbaden / Germany and a MSc in Business Management from the University of Münster / Germany.
